Home Library Makeover Reveal | Finishing the Design + Budget DIY Recap
The long-awaited home library reveal is finally here! 🎉 Over the course of this project, you’ve seen me build the custom library wall, upholster the ottoman, and come shopping with me for fabric and decor. Now it’s time to see it all come together. In this video, I’m giving you a tour of the finished space, recapping the DIYs I tackled along the way (you can catch the full DIY process in previous videos), and sharing how we created this beautiful room while sticking to a budget of $2000-$3000.
The style of the space is transitional, with modern shapes and lines mixed with vintage touches like cabinet hardware, an antique card table, and a stunning vintage-inspired rug. The room’s color palette pulls from the earthy tones right outside the large picture window, featuring browns, taupes, mossy greens, and maroon accents, all balanced with matte black and antique brass finishes. Texture plays a key role here too, from linen, cotton, and tweed fabrics to a mix of natural wood finishes.
A couple of challenges came up along the way—including my unfortunate mistake with the paint sealer on the library wall and a series of unexpected delays—but we managed to bring the vision to life. From custom-built furniture to DIY Roman shades made out of a shower curtain, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to fit both the style and budget!
